Well, here we are at our first summer as The Takes.

As we all pack up and head home for a couple of weeks, it's a good time to reflect on what we have achieved so far because, let's be honest, no one will be working while we're enjoying time with family.

We launched The Takes after February break, with 15 articles up and published. Student writers got in touch after seeing a poster, being encouraged by their teachers, or seeing a message in a peer group on Teams. They applied by sending an article idea to the Editor-In-Chief and were given free rein to write what they were passionate about in whatever way they preferred.

This created a nice buzz around school and gave us a good base to learn from in terms of how much autonomy to give people over how prescriptive we needed to be.

The editorial team has worked closely together, grabbing quick meetings whenever they share a period. This has generated some great ideas that are still in the making, ambitious projects that require time and effort to match the enthusiasm for the idea. All are very much coming to fruition very soon.

It'll now be a quiet summer. However, the editorial team are keen to continue into next year; as our founders, it is great that we can secure them until they leave the school.

Thank you for taking the time to read and support their work so far. We hope you'll stay with us and be inspired, educated, and informed by The Takes.

P.S. Have you noticed the new tab on the home page?

Thank you

Editor-in-Chief.
