Summer is one of the best times of the year (in my opinion). It’s when you're given time off school (around 6 weeks) to prepare, relax, and have fun. That seems like a lot of time but before you know it, summer is over, and you might feel like you didn’t achieve much. Maybe you wanted to hang out with friends, but they were too busy, or you wanted to do activities but didn’t know what to do. These situations are bound to happen, but there are some activities you can do without friends. If you don’t have a clue where to start, this article should give you some ideas.
PAMPERING YOURSELF

As stated before, summer is supposed to be a relaxing time, so during the break, you could take this opportunity to pamper yourself. You can take a few days for yourself and in that time, you could experiment. Try some new hairstyles or a new skincare routine, have that long bath you haven’t had in ages to soak away the day and get ready for the next or paint your nails. Just do anything that’s relaxing for you and why not try going to bed earlier than normal because a good night of sleep is the best pampering you can do.

ORGANISE YOUR ROOM
You could rearrange your room. It may sound like a boring or annoying activity, but, if you aren’t happy with the way your room is you can always re-decorate. Summer is the best time to re-arrange your room since you will be there more than usual. You could go thrifting for items to decorate it with. If you wanted a specific room vibe, you could go on Pinterest and move around your stuff to fit what you want.
READ

I would suggest that for summer, you could read. Reading is an amazing experience, especially on a nice warm summer day when you have nothing else to do - just listening to music with a good book is good enough.
Introducing yourself to something you wouldn’t normally read can expand your imagination. It can introduce you to a genre of reading that you really like such as gothic, romance, mystery, fantasy, autobiography, biography, folklore, fiction, non-fiction, thriller, and more.

CREATE
On the more creative side, you could write some short stories and make some paintings. If you enjoy English or just want to try something new you can make up a little story or poem. It doesn’t have to be the slightest bit good, but if you like it, you can keep it for yourself or show family and friends. If you prefer Art to English you could create a painting, a sketch or anything remotely art-like. You don’t need expensive materials, you could use some really cheap paints if you want (as long as it works).
All these activities are up for interpretation; you can take the activities and do something different with them. Change them and end up with something completely different - as long as it makes you happy.
Summer is time off school or work, but as long as you keep productive and do things you actually enjoy it shouldn’t be the slightest bit boring.
